Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon se está tomando en serio el rol de mamá sustituta, al asegurarse de que Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson tenga el mejor cumpleaños, cinco meses después de Mama June Shannon, fuera arrestada por posesión de drogas.
“Pumpkin” de 19 años, compartió una dulce publicación de Instagram en honor al cumpleaños número 14 de su pequeña hermanita.
“Feliz cumpleaños a mi no tan pequeña hermana. Hoy tienes 14 años y estoy tan feliz de poder pasarlo contigo”, escribió junto a una foto de “Honey Boo Boo” sacando la lengua con las manos cerca de la cara.
“Las cosas no han sido las más fáciles últimamente, pero prometo que lo superaremos. Me encantó estar allí para ti cuando más me necesitas. Y disfruto siendo tu hermana mamá. Espero que hoy sea todo lo que deseas y más @honeybooboo”. Continúa el escrito.
Recordemos que Mama June fue arrestada en marzo por posesión de una sustancia controlada y cargos de parafernalia de drogas después de que supuestamente tenía crack de cocaína con ella.

Así mismo, su novio Eugene “Geno” Edward Doak, fue acusado de violencia doméstica en tercer grado, posesión de una sustancia controlada y posesión de parafernalia de drogas.
A raíz del arresto de su madre, “Honey Boo Boo” ha estado viviendo con Lauryn, convirtiéndose ésta en la guardiana legal de Alana, momentáneamente.
Durante el final de la temporada del reality “Mama June: From Not to Hot”, que se emitió en mayo, la familia Shannon organizó una intervención para June dos días antes de su arresto.
En un momento durante la intervención, Alana lloró mientras le decía a su madre que su decisión de vivir con su hermana mayor no fue por elección:
“Me encantaría volver a casa y quedarme contigo, contarte sobre mi día, pero no puedo hacerlo porque tengo miedo”, dijo. “Tengo miedo de quedarme en tu casa”.
